Sant Ji's Birthday Celebrations

This year the program was held for 5days on account of Sant Jis birthday.

A strict meditation program was observed. The satsang program was held twice daily and bhajan singing sessions were held.

It was all the time as if Sant Ji was sitting with us. Each one felt his presence and warmth. A lot of sweets were distributed  in each meal although it was a worldly thing but even this gesture made us remember our Almighty it made us feel the love which we always experienced during Sant Ji's physical presence  not only the eternal but also the fatherly (worldly) love that we had experienced.

It was the afternoon of the 10 September during the lunch langar Gurmel announced that on account of Sant Ji's birthday he wanted all of us to should celebrate it in a unique way.

The arrangement of the program was to be announced only during the evening So as the time passed the suspense grew. After the evening Satsang we were asked  to make a line outside Sant Ji's underground room where he sat and did meditation for so many years. During the evening langar the sevadars saw to it that each one of us were present.

Gurmel started announcing, we could just hear him and not see him as he was announcing from the terrace. He said that on account of Sant Ji's birthday let us all remember him in a different way like we celebrate the festival of lights. Today in true sense was the biggest festival for all of us.

Firstly we did not understand what he meant then he explained further that few of the sevadars would bring in plates full of candles and each one of us would get a chance to light at least one of them, then all of us had to go on the terrace through Sant Ji's room. So it was for the second time that we got the opportunity to go to Sant Ji's room and get his grace. After that we decorated the ashram with lighted candles. And then the bhajans were sung in our beloveds remembrance.

Although it did cross our minds that why these worldly things how does it benefit a satsangi. But immediately I remembered that Sant Ji used to say that saints are always above the worldly things but Bhandaras or birthdays are the excuses, some occasions when we get the chance to sit in his Remembrance and honestly this festive occasion gave us an opportunity to sit deep remembrance.

Each one of us had a tear in their eyes and a smile on their face in remembrance of our Beloved and no words can express the thought of our most dearest Sant Ji.
